Is this what life has become? Sitting in bed, hubby asleep and me typing away on my pc, pencil in hand with books surrounding me like a fortress? For now I guess it is. Funny though, because even with the feeling of being overwhelmed (which I am much more underwhelmed than I was 4 weeks ago) there is always a feeling of accomplishment when I finish a paper, or pass an exam. I am that much closer to goal. Right?
I was in Target this morning purchasing yet another bookbag for all of my textbooks, notebooks and laptop (I thought my cute shoulder bag could hold up to the weight of everything.) Wrong! I got a large (although still cute in a hiker girl kind of way) industrial, camper backpack. Long enough and large enough to fit my laptop, 2 textbooks for on - campus classes, 2 notebooks, TI-84, pens, pencils, highligters, makeup and much more.. lol Yes I needed to be able to carry equal the weight not just on one shoulder. So as I was checking out, the cashier asked what I was in school for. I quickly (with my shoulders held high) said I am studying to be a nurse with a future hopefully in anesthesia. She looked at me and said "you look like you will be a great nurse, people aren't usually as polite as you are". (I only offered to pack my own grocery bags, but I am sure she has seen it all.) In any event, I was on cloud 1000 after the conversation with the cashier, and me and my oversized bookbag left ready for the week of school ahead.
We need pics of the bookbag...or it didn't happen. :) :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a typical day in the life... I actually went out and bought a SMALLER bookbag. Those books are killing my back and I decided I can't take the whole kitchen sink everywhere I go :-)
ReplyDeleteY'all are going to have back problems before you start! Somehow I don't remember that many books when I was going to nursing school...and I know for a fact no one used backpacks either....that was a phenomenon of the late '80s or early '90s I believe..... ;)
